The purpose of the Fray Angélico Chávez Chapter, GSHA, is to promote Hispanic genealogical and historical research, and to expand awareness and knowledge of Hispanic culture, historical contributions, and traditions.
The Chapter will establish and maintain an ever-growing repository of films, books, records, and documents for attainment of the organization's objectives. The Chapter will conduct meetings, seminars, and workshops to educate and disseminate genealogical information. The Chapter will establish, maintain, and nurture relationships with various institutions, i.e., schools and colleges; government, churches, social, and philanthropic; and the media specifically for the enhancement of the objectives of the organization.
